Launched 2016
The Innovation Academy is the professional development division of OnePoint5Media, launched in Glasgow in 2016. Bringing together professionals and emerging talent, it uses practical learning to explore creativity, collaboration and change, with a European outlook connecting ideas, people and perspectives across sectors and borders.
Different by design
The Academy takes a practice-oriented approach to learning, combining creative experimentation, conversation and collaborative workshops. This included helping deliver Glasgow’s first Climathon hackathon, bringing people together to develop practical responses to climate challenges and demonstrating the value of creative collaboration in addressing real-world issues.
European outlook
The Academy's European outlook quickly found expression in Brussels. In 2016, its work was presented at the European Innovation Summit, and Susan Robertson spoke at the European Parliament about the principles behind the Academy and Innovators Magazine. OnePoint5Media and the Academy also signed the K4I Pact for Innovation, supporting cross-sector collaboration.
What's next?
The Academy continues to explore how creativity, collaboration and practical learning can help people navigate change. As artificial intelligence, digital storytelling and intellectual property reshape the creative industries, we are developing ideas for future workshops and professional development opportunities that build on the Academy’s foundations, connecting new skills and emerging challenges with its enduring European outlook.
